Just checking in... a little about me, I've been a Chevy/GMC truck guy right from High School.

My older first cousin had a 1960 Chevy Fleetside that I got as a hand me down after he bought a new GMC truck. I got a real lesson in mechanics keeping it alive. The front end bounced around like a ball, so I decided new shocks were in order, the front passenger side shock went on in about 15 mins, I slid over to the driver side and... what?? No shock, just the very top with the mount bolted to the frame.

Next up was my first truck, a 1975 Chevy Stepside. Drove the heck out of it until salt air body rot got the best of it.

A 1987 GMC 4x4 Stepside took it's place... I'm still hanging onto it, I'm on the second motor at 265K miles, the original got the main bearings washed by an unknown intake manifold leak at 230K.

Since the '87 was the last year of the classic style Stepside, I'm bound and determined to keep this one going until it takes me to the cemetery.

The interior is starting to show it's age, the dash is cracked and the seat cover is split form being sun baked.

The dash lights, instrument cluster are acting flakey, heater blower only turn at about 20rpm, head liner is saging, dual tank switch over doesn't, bed boards warped and cracked... but the body is still in excellent shape, so it's time for some TLC.

With LMC and Classic Industries catalogs in hand, I ready to start tackling stuff, and that's why I'm here.

To learn something, and to try and stay out of trouble and while I'm going about fixing stuff, and hang out with others folks that share my interest in keeping our older GM trucks alive and kicking.

Sorry for the long winded intro... I'm just glad to be here.
