Re: cleaning up the garage,

Love those underhood lights they came out with in 88. I would rob every single one from the salvages that rolled through our shop. I think I added one to every vehicle I've had up until about 3 years ago. I have one in my tool box actually with a pair of alligator clips for a power lead, can hook it up and use it as a quick drop light in a pinch.
If I did not have a couple already I'd buy it, great deal for a great piece of GM know how.

They are a great light, but I don't think GM was the first with this idea my dad had a 86 or 87 Nissan 4x4 that had a very similar stock underhood light. Eitherway it's definately a great idea vs. the bulb attached to the hood.

I agree, they sure are handy on the side of the road you can see almost anywhere on the car with the long extension....... maybe I should keep it.

I pulled them from a engine that was a rebuild, but the rod went thru the side and had about 40,000 miles
Its been sitting in my garage for 4 yrs and a few bugs have made homes in a few screw holes. (as you can see in the picture) Even though I feel you could put them right on a block, If I were to buy it I would take it to a machine shop and have them cleaned up and checked out, Just good insurance.
Thanks for your interest Randy
