Starter troubleshooting

My 85 GMC 1 ton starter has been giving me problems lately. Sometimes it will just give a single click when you turn the key. After 4 or 5 tries it eventually works. Batteries are fine.

Does it sound like my solenoid is bad?

first thing i would do is every connection i would check and clean all your grounds
