Engine Questions

I just bought a 454 engine today that I plan to rebuild over the next few years. I've never gone into an engine before so I need all the help I can get. The reason I bought this engine is because I really want to learn how the insides of these things work as well as just experience. I'm 19 so I have college and stuff to contend with. What I'am wondering is if anyone knows of any good books out there that they have tried that give good detailed descriptions on everything, or any other helpful sites. I guess just anything that a beginner would need.
