ATTN: '72 CHEYENNE DUALLY??? Ever made? Urgent answer needed!!!

I just called on a 72 Cheyenne Dually for sale?. I've never heard of one... Was it ever made, I mean Factory made? I don't think so, BUT, the owner swears it's for real! Has dually wheels for the front (meaning offset, not 2, dah) and dual rears, ie. 4 tires... Kicker, he says the wheels are inside the 8 ft bed with no wheel flares. I've seen plenty of trucks made into a dually by adding the 73 up 'glass flares, but, never this. In my mind, NEVER MADE. So, to all you Specialists. What's up with that? I'm going to see the truck tomorrow, (provided I can get away from wife and funeral commitments). I will take pics, Don't fret. I'm just dumbfounded by this "so called" ORIGINAL. Plan to check the SPID, I'm thinking C20 single axle converted, or, C30 dually SWB, ie. wrecker that had a bed stuck on.

Owner statement:
C30 Cheyenne PS, PB, Chrome pkg truck
350 motor
4 speed granny
"Extremely Rare" factory dually

Personally, I think he's full of it..........

Thanks! Info replys only plzzzzz. WE can have fun after I post pics, this should be good

L88R,

yep, they made cheyenne duallys. none from the factory ever came with beds, so someone probably added a longhorn bed or some other type of box.

Thanks, I'll check it closely. I've seen C/30's, but, never Cheyenne's. I'll let you know what I find. Appreciate it, keep warm. Saw your getting your first Canadian Blast this week.

I've heard of them before, but never seen one around our neck of the woods. Even if you don't end up purchasing it, post up some pics of it please!

Re: ATTN: '72 CHEYENNE DUALLY??? Ever made? Urgent answer needed!!!

Remember that these old C30s were a cab and chassis model. They had a normal rear track width with the second set of tires on the inside. They were not a wide dually with the tires pushed out and they did not come with a pickup box.

Re: ATTN: '72 CHEYENNE DUALLY??? Ever made? Urgent answer needed!!!

No pickups,as mentioned. The narrow cab & chassis rear requires "tubbing" the wheel houses and leaves the tires out about 2" from the bedside.Looks great with just a 2" rubber fender lip.A lot of the dual rear C/30 Cheyennes and Supers were frame mount RVs with comfort options.also,a few wreckers and race car haulers. The percentage of fancy-optioned is low compared to these days. But,they sure did exist.
