Re: What about these wheels?

Well, I ordered 2 of my wheels. Raceline "renegade 8" Chrome, 18x8.5, 4.75"BS, 0 Offset. I'll get the next 2 next week most likely.

Re: What about these wheels?

Shure would look really cool with some BFG All Terrains on it. The Silent Armors are a decent tire but dont have any aggressive look to them like the wheels do. I had the same wheels and BFG's on my 02 Duramax truck and they looked mean and lasted about 60-65K before they needed replaced. Just thinking the wheels would look better with a more semi aggressive tire on them. Just my 2 cents. By the way, I love the look of your truck with those wheels on it.

I dunno... I just walked in ther, didnt ask for nothin special, he didnt say nothin special... IT came out to right at $700 for everything except the alignment...

I Don't think I'm gonna get those tires though... I changed my mind on the size, I can't decide between a 275/70R18 and a 285/65R18. The 285 is a tad wider, but the 275 is a tad taller. Plus the 275's are a lot cheaper and have more choices than the 285's.

The 275's should be 33.2" tall the 285's should be 32.6" tall.

I have been thinking about that.. I've been looking at the BFG AT's, Bridgestone Dueler A/T 695LT, And General Grabber AT2's. I've always wanted some BFG's its just never worked out that way.... They are a high possibility, I too have seen several people get high mileage out of them, and they just look GOOD.

What do you guys think?

Re: What about these wheels?

Looking at those BF goodrich TA's, both the 275/70R18 and 285/65R18 Have the SAME tread width, only different section widths. Plus the 275s are a good bit cheaper than the 285's. I think I'm gonna go with the 275's. The 285 is around .35" wider than the 275, but the 275 is around .5" taller than the 285. Tread width is 9.2" and the wheel is 8.5" What do yall think?

Re: What about these wheels?

I was thinking about the pro grade silent armors. I'll probably go with the BFG's because for the given size they are a little wider, and I love those tires. Then I can get a smaller sized tire and still get what i want, size wise. I also like the solid white letters. They show up better than the outlined letters. As far as width, All I want is a tire with tread a little wider than the rim width and I want a 33" tire.

Re: What about these wheels?

Went and had Discount Tire do me a trial fit on my truck. Tried a 275/70R18 BFG AT. Looks perfect and that's what I'm going to go with. Gotta order the other 2 wheels and then its on. I think they look Just right. They're 33.2" high. I'll have to roll in the front-most part of the wheel lip 1/2"x1/2". when you turn the wheels, the tire JUST clears... It doesn't hit is about all you can say. Very acceptable, so Ill have it done before I go to buy the tires and it wont be noticable from a straight on to the side view of the truck. I'm as in love as I can be with a tire and wheel. ;D

Re: What about these wheels?

I got 2 of the tires today, they're coming back off until i get the other two, I just had to see how they're gonna look. I like it a lot! Looks like a perfect fit to me.

I have the old 265/75R16's on the drivers side and the 275/70R18s on the passenger side... Look at that lean. the new tires are a bit wider and they're 2" taller.

onto the good stuff. The trucks dirty and i haven't taken the blue stuff off the tires yet, I'm gonna leave it until they put em on for good.

I like em, if i keep staring at this thing I may have the other 2 tires in 2 weeks. Its amazing the difference.

Re: What about these wheels?

awesome. It looked good before, but you're right, it's prefect with the new rolling stock. Yours is one of my favorites on here, just an awesome DD.

Re: What about these wheels?

Thanks guys!

3r!c84

I used a brake caliper paint from advance auto parts... it's good stuff, I painted the calipers on the focus 6 years ago and it still looks pretty good

I just wire brushed everything and sprayed it off with brake cleaner and let it air dry and sprayed it. My spindle was already painted so all I had to paint was the rotor itself and the caliper.

Re: What about these wheels?

Those wheels and tires brought the beast out of a very clean truck. Of course now it looks like you need some lift...
