Ball Joint Question
I have a 69 c10. I am in the process of putting drop spindles on it. I replaced the ball joints last night with the ones for a '73. The problem I have is this. One side pressed in just fine. The other side started a little out of wack so I started over, and it finally went in straight. But when I went to put it all together today, I noticed the ball joint has a little wobble. You can move the stud back and forth a little and the base of the ball joint will come back out of the hole just a little. I went back to the press and put some more pressure on it, it went in, but still can be worked back out. It comes back out about a 1/16" or just a little more. Did I screw up? It won't work properly like this will it?

Re: Ball Joint Question
I would press it back out and replace it with a new one. No point in doing all of this work and leaving it with a loose joint.

Re: Ball Joint Question
So do you think it messed up the ball joint or the hole in the a arm? I know you probably can't tell without pictures, but thought I would ask.

Re: Ball Joint Question
I would say you stretched the hole in the arm. Moog offers an oversized ball joint to compensate for the worn hole crazyAl

That's what I thought may have happened.

Re: Ball Joint Question
Moog problem solver should be the answer. If it still has play i've seen them tack welded into the stock arms
