help heads!
hey guys
ive been working on getting my truck running this week and i got bored and started looking up heads on craigslist and comparing them to the info charts on the web. in saying that. double hump heads are out cause there not worth it in the end. my heads i believe are 993 heads which arent a big whoop from what i hear. id like to get some vortec heads for my self for christmas. however im engaged and getting married next year and dont want to get the look when i spend 800 bucks on heads for a truck that "doesnt run". and it was a farm truck but im using it as my dd and cleaning it up nice. any suggestions on nice power with out killing my money pot? thanks a lot

Re: help heads!
vortecs are a good upgrade for the price but then by the time you factor in the intake the price goes up, on ebay you can buy a set of pro comps for around $600, lots of guys flame about them, IMO they're fine and you get what you pay for, ran a set on my old 4x4 with better results than you'd expect outta cheap heads, ordered another set with roller rockers for my 68 and it came to $650 or so
