What did I do wrong? Help!!!!

Well I am in the middle of hooking my my new 350 in my 71 c 10 and I think I did something wrong. When u push in the clutch it goes to the floor and ....... well thats where it stays. How do I fix this do I just not have the rod tight enough?

It sounds to me like it is not connected to anything? The clutch pedal assembly has a spring mechanism that holds the pedal up, but then it "over-centers" and helps to push the pedal down. If there is no resistance to help push it back upward, it sticks to the floor. Just reach down, grab it and pull it back up.

Is the spring inside the cab or in the engine bay?

It's in the cab, up by the pivot point of the pedals.

If I push the clutch down to the floor on my '71 it will stay there until I pull it up, I think something is kind of binding the z-bar because of putting the 454 in it.

So I don't push it all the way to the floor, I just push it far enough to dis-engage the clutch and shift gears.
