It will be longer than the TH350 so you'll have to shorten or replace your driveshaft. Other changes will be necessary as well that are better discussed in the appropriate drivetrain forum, but it's not just a bolt-in-and-go proposition.

Re: New 700r4

number off of tranny is;
8663549
number off torque converter is;
2428C or
24280
not sure which because last number/digit is smeared

and I assume it is a street tranny..

Bigarmzz has until midnight to make the call then
your next in line...

Thanks Ray
i got ahold of a tech at TCI "Dennis", he said there should be somewhere on the top of trans stamped "TCI" and a series of 6 numbers

budder's checkin on that tomorrow to see if its stamped on there

"Dennis" also said that if the numbers on the torq converter was "242800" that was consistent witha TCI 2200 to 2400 stall lock up torq converter

Re: New 700r4

I have to handle some personal issues today and will go first thing Monday
AM and look for the "TCI" stamp and numbers... I do know the transmission
has been sandblasted and painted so it may be difficult to find these stamps..
I will post on Monday and we can go from there..... and I do know it has NEVER
been used since built because it still has the plastic plugs in the lines/holes and
it came with a new billet transmission dip stick as well as a new in box TCI wire
harness....

Re: New 700r4

Ok guys here is the details.... I took the transmission to my local
AAMCO shop and the manager there went through it and found the
following...It is a new/rebuilt 700R4 transmission with what seems
to be a 2400-2800 stall converter with a TCI wiring harness. It isn't
marked/stamped TCI but there is a place at the front on the top of
the transmission where a Label/stamp was but it is gone now and the
guy I bought it from said he got it from TCI New/Rebuilt never used.
So here is what I am going to do....... It is for sale @ $750.00 and I will
take $400.00 down up front and the remaining $350.00 once it's installed
and runs out as promised. The salesman at TCI said they would sell the
same transmission with converter for over $1800.00. If you would like to
discuss further please call 601 270 1769 Budder... please reply in this
thread if your interested or wanta get in line.....

i'm thinkin thats a bit more stall than what i'd need (2800 is high for me)

had my hopes up on the "TCI" thing.....unfortunately, the darn 700r4 torq converters are freakin outrageously overpriced....that kinda causes my budget to go too high on this

guess i'm out too

thanks for really checkin this thing out though, says alot for the kind of guy you are
