Re: gmc 6 cylinder valve covers
I would guess they are rare, I wouldn't know how rare though.
There's a 63 350 V6 Gmc with those valve covers out at my local Pick-N-Pull.

Re: gmc 6 cylinder valve covers
Valve Covers are between $8 - $15 at Pick-N-Pull.
I need to mention that the ones on the Gmc 350 I saw were just painted regular - not plaid.

Re: gmc 6 cylinder valve covers
And these are V6 valve covers (when you say 6 cylinder, the term is associated with the 230-250-292, and older 235 enginges)
They are unusual, but I wouldn't say rare. 60-66 there were a lot of them. I would search this board for the guys that have the V6 and ask them. Unless you have a V6 to use them on, your just investing $65 for a cool part you can't use?

Re: gmc 6 cylinder valve covers
The plaid covers are rare and desirable to GMC collectors/restorers. I think they may have been a one-year-only part. Ordinary V-6 covers grow on trees and aren't worth much.

Re: gmc 6 cylinder valve covers
Here's an interesting story about them with two different versions of why:
