Brake hose pic needed

when I tore down the truck Im working on, I threw out the old calipers and hoses by stupidity and now Im having problems finding the right brake hose for the front end. The ones I ordered dont fit and seem wrong. My truck is a 1971 4x4 with disk brakes on the front. Does anyone have pictures of what their hoses look like or a part number if im lucky? The guy at my local parts store are as sharp as a butter knife.

I've got Bendix 77028, 19" long from the chassis mount to centre of banjo hole. Can get a picture in the morning.

Re: Brake hose pic needed

If you could get a pic I would be greatly appreciate. I have the exact part # that lindstromjd suggested. It is 19'' as well and this is where Im confused. The hose fits so tight it doesnt seam to have room to turn, but that might just be me being paranoid.

I wonder about the lenght of them at full droop on the suspension. Turning seems to be ok. Hope this helps with butter knife...

Re: Brake hose pic needed

Mine are the same just a lil tighter it seams, its weird my friend has a 4'' lift in his 72 gmc and he didnt swap or do anything to the stock hoses and they still fit. I know if I had any lift these wouldnt fit. I might just get a set of steel braided lines just to get away from this headache. Thanks alot for your pics billhilly, what kind of truck is that is that in the pic? does it have left hand steering?

Re: Brake hose pic needed

I have drum front brakes on my 1970 k10 but when i looked to replace mine i ran into the same problem my lines were i think 24 inch stock and all the books showed a 18 or 19 inch break line... so i actually went to i think a earlier break line for a 1964 chevy 4x4 double check the connections to be sure they fit your disc breaks.

Re: Brake hose pic needed

I went out and tried them again and being in the house for a couple of days warmed them up and the look to fit better with enough room to turn, but the clips that came with them dont really work, are you guys using nuts to hold them on to the frame?

Re: Brake hose pic needed

The original hoses had stamped steel nuts that go on the inside of the frame to secure the hose to the frame.
BillHilly has one lying on the floor in his photo.

The picture is of my 72 K25. I've converted it over to RHD. Build thread here - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=217490&page=4
Let us know how you get on with the brake hoses.

Re: Brake hose pic needed

I thought it was a right hand drive but I hadnt noticed that you live in New Zealand so now it makes sense to me. I read your build and like what youre doing!

The hoses will work, for some reason I was putting them on the wrong way. After they warmed up and where straight I got them to fit nicely. So I just need to find some of those stamped nuts, apparently they dont really re-make those, so make sure not to loose them. Hopefully I can use the one from a parts sub I have or from an auto wrecker..
