Re: windshield wiper conversion
Ratrod,
Thadius(sp?) has a conversion he did using a rear wiper motor from a s10 blazer, its a single speed. This week at school I had to fix my blower motor on my 95 k1500 Chevy it only had high speed, As I was setting there reading the wiring diagram a thought hit me.I "WONDER IF" a person was to use the same set up for 4 speeds on a blower and ran the wiper motor would it work? I did some research and found the interment wipers on most GMs use a higher resistor value than the resistors on the blower motors, BUT I would think the Blower would run at a higher amps than the wiper motor. I am taking apart a 97 caddy so I am going to do more research on this only problem I don't think I have a single speed wiper. It might work, it might go up in smoke, (which might be fun). I will let you all know unless some one else has already tried this. Last edited by RootBeer 6117; 11-20-2010 at 11:49 AM. |

Re: windshield wiper conversion
i used the wiper set up off an MGB in my '49. they are cable drive and you can adjust them to fit in almost any thing. i even managed to make the wipers sweep away from each other like how these old trucks came from the factory. the hardest thing i had to do was make a mount to bolt the motor to. they are 12 volt.

Re: windshield wiper conversion
When I was in high school I drove my dads 49 pickup to the coast with a girl friend. On the way back the wiper motor puked. I rigged a coat hanger to the wiper arm that she pulled out the open window on the way back. Crude but got us home. Last date we ever had in that truck.
