s10 swappers (or anyone)...transmission questions

Okay, so I am at the point to drop in my engine and transmission. I the donor is a 1991 s10 4l60 (non electronic). After doing some research how did this year lock up? Is there parts I could pull off the s10 to do this, or should i buy a kit? If so which has been the best kit to buy?

Grab the brake switch off the S-10. You won't need anything else besides a wire connector and maybe a toggle switch if you want to manually disable the lockup. Everything else you need is already inside the transmission.

the 4L60 non-E is just another name for the 700R4.
the lockup converter works by applying power to the connector on the left front of the transmission...

in the stock application, the computer supplied power to this wire when it felt the transmission should lockup. (based off throttle position, brake usage, etc)

there are cheap aftermarket controllers that can do this.. just remember anything for a 700R4 fits your trans too... GM just redid their naming conventions..
