Truck Wont Start
I went out this morning and nothing, a little fire, and more nothing. Got home from school and its a blizzard. More nothing. So I changed carbs to a known runner and nothing. i have poured gas down both carbs so i have fuel. and i threw the timing light on. what seems like normal spark on #1 (ie x......x......x.......x.......x.......x) and then i stuck it on #3 and it was like ( x..x....x.x.....x.......x.x.....x..x.....x) i then gave up. because the winds blowing 50mph and the snow is cold....

Re: Truck Wont Start
What year truck and engine....electronic spark or old school?
Did you check rubber vacumn line from dist to carb? They get cracks and suck air. Check for fuel pressure in line from pump to carb. Could be pump isnt pulling like it should. |

Ok. Im suspecting fuel delivery problem. Must be a constriction like a bad fuel filter or pump is dying. Have to get a pressure reading on the line......Damn its cold where you are. Im by las vegas and its t-shirt weather....lol ![]() |

Re: Truck Wont Start
it can be damn near impossible to start it up if the choke isn't working and it's freezing outside lol make sure the choke flap is closing when you step on the gas

Re: Truck Wont Start
the quadrajet i took off had manual choke and i had it on.. and off and nothing changed.. this edelbrock is all disconnected so i can basically use it as a manual choke.. i will work on keeping it closed... if i can get it running enough to pull it in the shop that would be great...

Re: Truck Wont Start
Close the flap all the way and when it starts then open it a bit.

Okay. Tomorrow I will mess with it more. I will pressure test the fuel and go from there. 6-8psi is about normal right?
