Re: Washer motor question

Might be a bad switch. The motor and pump get 12 volts the switch grounds it so they'll work.
The middle wire that goes to the switch is what runs the washer pump.

Re: Washer motor question

Yeah, but you won't have wipers. My guess is the switch is bad if it worked before correctly.

Re: Washer motor question

This might help.

You should be able to just unplug the wires from the washer terminals on the wiper motor.

Re: Washer motor question

That should be the dark blue wire.

Re: Washer motor question

There are 2 blue wires under there, IIRC. Trace the one that goes to the middle connection at the switch, disconnect at the washer pump. Wipers should still work, washer pump won't.

Re: Washer motor question

Hey guys i unplugged the dark blue wire out of the back of the switch and it didnt do anthing i dont have enough hand room to reach in and unplug it off of the washer motor and i cant see it at that. I unplugged it and the wipers still functioned on low and the washer motor was still goin. Theres a chance that the wiring has been messed with before with a previous owner and i just need to tear down deeper i guess to find the problem. If i take the radio out will it make seeing in there any easier??

SInister ill just have to get in there another way to unplug it from the pump. but i will do waht u told me when i get the time.

Re: Washer motor question

There are 2 different blue wires going to the switch. The one that goes to the middle connection at the switch is the one for the washer pump.

You have to disconnect the electrical plug from the washer, on the wiper motor, not the Blue wire on the switch.

Re: Washer motor question

SHORT VERSION....DID it work correctly BEFORE you changed the switch? If it DID work correctly, take the new switch back to the store.
