84 GMC C20, granny-gear 4 speed to 88-98 5 speed swap?
Hey all, Happy Thanksgiving 2010!
I just bought a 1984 GMC C20 yesterday, and its got the granny-gear 4 speed in it. I also just found a 5 speed trans out of an 88 Chevy truck for sale for $50. I would like to do the swap, for better gas mileage. my concerns are; -how difficult would it be overall? -could i use the same drive shaft and clutch setup? (84 still has manual clutch, not hydraulic as far as i know) -any other problems i might run into? Thanks!!
