Re: New guy to the forum

Installed 6" lift. Installed 350 turbo w/208 t-case. Had to change out column due to original manual tranny. Installed a van tilt in it's place. Had issues with rear brakes but all is better now.

Nice truck!

A couple of questions:
What sent you in the direction of a 208 t-case?

Are you going to be plowing for money or just around your place?

Re: New guy to the forum

Thanks everyone for the compliments! My first truck was a 2wd 71 cheyenne, sold it when I was 22 and regreted ever since. 12 yrs later I found one that I wanted and with my shop skills I can finally do what I want to one.

As for this winter projects I have to finish the interior. I have a hole in the floor from the original floor shifter and I am going to build something in the middle for a cup holder to hide the hole in the carpet. I know it would be easier to get new carpet but I want something there anyways and it just gives me an excuse now. Other than that the interior is perfect. I need some tunes but that is the easy part.
I love my WELD rims but they are 16.5's and my tire selection is very limited. The rubber on my ride is temporary, I want 35's but couldn't find any I liked for a 16.5 rim. So the military 37's were CHEAP. $50 a piece so they will get me by till the funds allow new rims and tires.
I have one dent on the back of the driverside bed area, looks like someone backed into a pole that needs to be fixed. The paint is faded bad and I am going to spray it this late winter early springtime.

Re: New guy to the forum

mrein3:
I thought about the 208 for awhile and since I had some already I decided to use it on this truck. It has advantages that I like. Weight factor. Low side gearing. It's 2.61 in low side compared to the 203 and 205 cases that are 1.98 in low side. I won't need low side often but when I do I want LOW SIDE. And that gearing is what I wanted. The case is stronger than what people give it credit for.
To answer your question about plowing snow in it, NO. Plowboy is the name of my mud racing truck so I just used it here for my name on the board. (That's one reason why I know how tough the 208 case is) My work truck has a plow rig on it so my driveway and street gets cleared with it.
