Trans options questions

I picked up a '69 that had a 350/350 in it. I have a 350 4-bolt to put in for power. I also have a granny 4-speed but the cab is a low hump. My son and my wife would like to go manual... any suggestions on trannys that will fit without major mods?

Re: Trans options questions

Car 4spds like Muncie M20-22,Borg Warner, and Saginaws. The Saginaws were used extensively and in later years than the others in more "ordinary" cars. They came in Vegas and Monzas, for instance.I know guys who put them behind pretty strong V8s.Another cool trans would be the 3 + o/d that was a floor shift that was used in late 70s-80s.I have a friend with an '84 shortbed with one that came in the truck.

Re: Trans options questions

I would add a T-5 to the list already mentioned. Transmissions in the "maybe" group (I'm not sure if they will clear a low hump) are the NV3500, T-56 and Tremec TKO.
