4 Speed trans

Has anyone rebuilt one?Mine is leaking bad and is whining is 2 and 3 gear.Any advise?Where can I get the parts at?Thanks Tony

SM465 were used from early 60's to 1991. Should be able to find one at virtually any salvage yard.

'68-'91 in GM trucks. Still in production for some off highway/industrial/military apps. Most parts stores should be able to get rebuild parts, and Google should turn up some others. May find a rebuild how-to over at Pirate4x4.com.

Here is a link that I found for the factory repair manual. I also read somewhere that to get the trans fully disassembled you need a press. Hope this helps you out.

Tanman; I have an SM465 out of a '73. You can have it for free if you have a way to pick it up. It lives here in Orlando FL in my garage. You can PM me if you're interested.

Do you have any pics of it?I will have to figure out how to get it to NC.If it was race season I have a friend that works for featherlite and goes to all the races.
