highlander question

I should know this but I'm having a senior moment. Does it say highlander on spid, if it has the highlander package? Thanks for any help, Randy

Re: highlander question

Randy it should say "special promotional" A, B, or C. A was the low end package with full foam seat and plaid cover, B got the cover and maybe tilt, and C got a/c and tilt with the rest of A and B. Dont think there is any mention of highlander at all on SPID.

Re: highlander question

Thanks Harold, well that truck up in Montana with the eagle on it looks like its a highlander, it has the seat but no tilt, its a AC truck. It looks all original except for the tilt is gone. I found a shipper, and I'm calling the seller tomorrow to try to work out details on me buying it. Sure wish the tilt was still in it. I'm going to ask him to get a pic of spid for me. Thanks Randy

I`d like to know if highlanders are considered rare or collectable, I really like the seat material.

Re: highlander question

Randy, I dont think it is a highlander, but I may be wrong. I am almost 99% sure it did not have factory tilt, as per the spid. The only truck I remember having a tilt was one of the cheyenne supers.

Re: highlander question

I looked today its all original under the dash in column area, never has had any bolts removed so it hasn't been changed out. Its just strange with the plaid highlander seat and as Hotfun said, black dash and everything else parchment. THANKS again for telling me about it I've already enjoyed the time I've owned it

Re: highlander question

I guess mines a Highlander..
And it specifically mentions green plaid bench seat.

Also, I didn't realize I had the Cigarette/Cigar lighter til I saw the Highlander option list..I thought it was a plastic dummy fixture, but it was just pressed in and stuck..

Re: highlander question

I owned a truck with the Highlander package about 10 or 12 years ago, it said Highlander right on the spid, it had the plaid seat, tilt wheel, and a/c.

This one just says Special Promo on the spid, all original Highlander purchased from the original owner. It is a A/C, tilt, with the original hubcaps......which of course are just 71 Monte Carlo hubcaps.

Your spid is strange. I looked at all the highlander spids I have and they all say "special promotional" except this one. It is sort of like your except when listing the plaid seat it call it highlander plaid. Maybe it depends on where the truck was built. At another plant they might of typed Blue highlander plaid trim on your truck rather than they way it is now.

Re: highlander question

The truck above has no YG8 option code listed, So is it a highlander???????

It has highlander plaid like yours so does that make them highlanders.?????

I think your truck is a highlander, but it would have made it a lot easier for all of us if they listed it as bluehighlander plaid.
