dash ground?

On my 68 gmc I just added a new cluster with the tac and vac. I can't get the dash lights, blinker lights, or the high beam to work . The gas gauge shows empty [but the truck might be] I did not have dash lights in the old cluster either. The cluster was repinned and the ground in the cluster plug is grounded Am I missing another ground strap?
I have ordered a new headlamp switch for tommorrow am. Please help .Jim

Re: dsah ground?

I think that your issue is the headlight switch. Replace it and it should solve your problem. The Dash cluster is grounded through the wiring harness so there isn't a seperate ground for it. WES

Re: dash ground?

Actually, there is supposed to be a seperate ground. It clips onto the dash. I'm not sure how it attaches to the cluster though.
While Wes is right on the headlight switch running the inst guage lights, it does not run the turn signal nor high beam indicator lamps.
I usually just take a spare piece of wire, strip the ends, wrap one end around and under the head of one of the bolts that holds the oval backing plate that has the oil pressure guage, then crimp an eyelette on the other end and slip it under one of the screws that mounts the panel to the dash.
Has never failed me yet.

Re: dash ground?

The new headlamp switch did nothing to fix my problem . The harder I try to get this truck on the road it seems like the harder the truck tries to stay parked. I have been in the car bussiness along time and have owned lots of cars and trucks but this one is getting to me and messing with me bad. Jim

I have a extra ground also into the ground strip on the printed circuit on my 71.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
