Re: 68 swb keep or sell?
It's your decision and if you decide to sell it you will be hooking someone up with a project that won't take much more time and money to fix it. I would like to know how much you would want for it too...I looks like there has been a lot of time and work invested.

Re: 68 swb keep or sell?
my build is over 7 years now and i have reached your current status several times within this build, when i do i stop working on it put it aside and build something for 4 to 8 K that i can drive for a month or two and turn around and sell, you might laugh but it works, i have built a 90 model vw cabriolet, 87 k5 blazer,66 vw fiberglass dune buggy.....

Re: 68 swb keep or sell?
Very nice truck. I have been there before and got rid of a project to a happy owner who finished it. Tough decision and its a nice truck that is almost there.

Re: 68 swb keep or sell?
If you really want the early truck and can handle it financially....sell it. If you want to make the most off the project either finish it, or part it out. Selling it as is will net you a MAX of 10-15K and we all know there is a TON more than that in that project...
most people looking for a truck like that are going to want it finished with all the kinks worked out.

Re: 68 swb keep or sell?
After 25 yrs buildin/playin, I have hit a really burnt spot....The last 6-7 years has been keepin 2 kids in cars the wife likes driving new chit(ouch). I will have to say that the sweetest ride , was the one that I was chasin a new Vette.....around the ramp, canned the throttle, when I pulled 2nd ,I had to switch lanes(didnt want to kill the vette) The guy that had that much money to spend on that Vette, turned the next cloverleef& F ing STOPPED! He watched my old chevy run....all 6 gears behind that lill sb! There is some **** that you just cant buy(you have to build it)! It looks to me that you put your heart into that project.....hang on & have fun crazyAl

Re: 68 swb keep or sell?
I would finish it. Then sell it, use that money to build the next one. Build you a cheap temporary spray booth in your garage out of wood and plastic. Buy a cheap spray gun and spray the clear yourself. Wet sand it down and buff it... Anit gotta super perfect, if the new owner wants to redo it fine- if not fine... Finish it out and get some good money for it....
Or yank the drivetran out and sell it as a roller..... |

My take ... Just get it running so you can drive it around the neighborhood, sit on a milk crate if you have to. Then make a decision.

Re: 68 swb keep or sell?
Great Looking truck!! I always dreamed of building a 68 short box.. So i when out and bought one! now in the processes of building a full custom at my good friends shop. I pulled my beat up truck in there one day and there was a beautiful half finished pro touring 51 sitting there! I stare at that truck everyday and wonder if i should have built that same truck so i know how u feel because i payed way to much for my truck and found out i have a ton of work ahead of me. Saying that you are so close to finish it..i think you shoud finish it. You might enjoy it and if not sell it! You will get more for it IMO

Re: 68 swb keep or sell?
I traded my 50 buick roadmaster 4 door for a 1967 chevy c10 lwb. What does that say "I am crazy"? Both are project but I got so burnt out on the 50. It was kicking my BUTT. What I am saying is. KEEP THE TRUCK. Looks likey invested alot of money into it. You should not sell it. Put it on the back burner for now and get a 51 chevy truck. If only way to get it is to sell the truck you have then I say NO SELL. BY the way I dont regret getting rid of the buick. Trucks are way better.

Re: 68 swb keep or sell?
I'm kinda feeling like R. Lee Ermey in that commercial where he's a phsyciatrist, but I won't. Set it aside and take a vacation from it. Find somebody thats got a nice finished project and ask for a ride in it. You might get the bug back. Good luck.
