Whining and complaining

My truck has developed an exhaust leak. It is on the engine rather than on the pipes so far as my ears can tell me. I changed the flange doughnut tonight but that didn't help so I guess it must be either the manifold to head gasket or the heat riser gasket between the intake and exhaust.

Sprayed the carb with some cleaner, ran out without finishing the job right. Decided to check the screws on the top of the carb to see if they were tight and one of them is stripped. Pain in the you know what.

My truck needs lots of things and these were not even on my mental list of things to get started on.

Done whining now.

I quit making lists, cause with all the everyday things to fix, I never get to the list!!! Just think tho, 8 more posts, and you'll be a senior member!!!

did you know that all the "top successful professionals" say --- don't make a big list --- just list a few things to do each day or over the weekend --- that way, things will get accomplished faster.

its worked for me so far, probably because is just an excuse to not have to start makin that list! hee hee

I am going to agree with Jewels on that. Never make a big list or it will slow you down. It always seems to do that to me atleast.

Lists----well my list starts out with checking the oil and coolant and in the process of opening the hood, I get some silicone spray to lub the hood latch, while getting that I notice that I didn't finish hooking up the 220 line for the welder so I grap some tools to do that only to think about it and decide that I could just tap off the compressor 220 line on the other side of the barn so I get the tape measure to see how far that line would need to be. With the tape measure in hand, I also realize that a few overhead 2x6's could allow for some overhead storage of stuff so I grab the step ladder and try to measure the span for the 2x6's. At ten feet the tape measure is LIMP (relate?). While up on the ladder, my wife calls me to tell me I have a phone call---always happens when my hands are greased up or I'm like trying to get the transmission lined up. I go answer the dumb phone then back to the barn with my list of checking the oil and coolant. Now what the heck is that ladder, tape measure, 220 line, etc. doing in the middle of the floor? They are not on my list?? HUCK

Huck, you and I must come from a very similar mold!
Most of my spare time is spent putting away all the tools that are still left out from the last project. While I'm putting them away, I usually think up with 5 more projects and then start to work on 2 of them, only to end up with more tools out on the bench, floor, tailgate, etc than were out when I started putting all of them away. This way, I never run out of things to do. I just run out of beer to drink while doing them!

I suffer from CRS (Can't Remember S....) so if I don't write it down I don't have much of a chance. I just hope I can remember where I parked as I leave the plant today....

LMAO...Huck hit er right on the head...sequences, the story of my life!!! 71 GMC... I about quit putting the tools away for about the same reason!! My wife, or anybody for that matter, walks in my shop and say's "how the heii do you know where anything is in here"?? Because I'm the last one to use it, and know where I put it!! HaHa!! Where the heck is that ratchet??!! I've had CRS all my life, and now I think the big A is kicking in! At least my hair isn't the only thing I'm loosing! I feel better! I'm not the only one out there!
