Running 20" coy c-5's w/ 255-40s @ the moment but plan on going up to the 22" c5 w/ a 265-35 after the susp. change.

Re: 2.5" spindle and 3" coil combo

If it were me I would run a 3" spindle, and a 2" spring. My experience has been that its better to get as much spindle drop as possible, followed by spring drop. Personally I do not care for 3" springs.

To answer your question, yes that can be done. It just wouldn't by my choice.

Re: 2.5" spindle and 3" coil combo

I'm running 2" coils right now w/ 3" DJM control arms and I'm looking to go little lower so I refinished the stock control arms and was planning on re-installing them w/ this drop spindle/coil combo instead to see if it would be lower going that way since every truck I see on here w/ that set-up looks lower than mine up front so maybe I'll do some measuring and start w/ a 3"
spindle paired w/ the 2" coils I have and see what happens from there!

That would be my choice. I have found that 3" springs combined with low profile tires don't offer the best ride and are prone to bottoming out.

Cool, what would be your choice DJM or Belltech for spindles?
