interior swap out on a 65

Hi i recently bought my first car a 1965 GMc truck and i am currently working on the cab and am almost finished, it ame with the original bench seats with no seatbelts. I am swapping the seats out with newer ones posibly from a newer car with a more modren look, such as leather bucket seats from a 99 surburban or smething like that. i want to keep it era correct but at the same time give it some modren feel as well. any ideas

Re: interior swap out on a 65

I put s 40-20-40 split bench out of a 02 Silverado in mine. With built in shoulder belts. Width wise it is perfect. But it is a little tight depth wise, however once I relocate the gas tank out of the cab I should gain 3 inches or so. Once I figure out how to get pictures onto here I will be happy to add them.

Look for newer seats that have the thin seat backs.

Removing the gas tank from the cab doesn't really help with leg room. The top of the seat back hits the double wall area of the back of the cab before the bottom of the seat hits the tank.

Removing the tank does give more interior space though!
