HELP: Whistling from vent windows
I researched & read some posts but they were over a year old.
I have a restored 1984 GMC 3500 Pickup and the vent window vent weatherstripping was replaced but on the highway, the whistling is driving me crazy. I read that 1991 vent window assemly is a cure for the whistling. Can I just replace the vent window weatherstrip with a 1991 & use my 1984 vent windows or do I have to use 1991 vent windows? Thanks |

Re: HELP: Whistling from vent windows
Open the window. Does the weather strip have a smaller channel in it? Is so, you can stop part of the whistle. Using a dull screw driver, slip the smaller channel edge over the vent window. It should seal both sides. Buy some clear silicon. Seal the area around the pivot bolt. I did this to my truck. I have no wind noise at all. Not even at 100 MPH.
