Re: opions needed...hood letters or no

I thought they were and dont under stand why the M doesnt fit. I am trying to fit it using letters from a 68 GMC hood. All the repop letters are listed as 68-72 so i thought they were the same. I am looking in the assembly manual now and the drill holes for 68 is different than the 69-72. 68 M has straight across pins. The 69-72 M holes are a off set. So original 68 letters will not fit 69-72 hood.

Why are the repop letters listed as 68-72 then?

I ran into the same thing mines a '68 GMC and bought new emblems. The M has a different mount. I sent them back (lmc) and they said all of theirs was like that...

I believe 68 gmc was the only year for that style of letters. 67 had no letters, 68 was a slanted hood, and 69-72 are probably the same.
