How too ??

I have a 53 that I need some touch up paint mixed .The only piece I can think to remove to have scanned is the cowl vent .How difficult is this to do ?

google 1953 chevy paint code.check out the stovebolt tech tip.there is a chart that gives you all the paint codes.

I should not be too difficult as long as you can access it easily from underneath the dash. If I remember correctly, there should just be small machine screws and nut that hold the hinge together. Unbolt from there and you should be able to lift it out.

Its not too hard to get the vent cowl out if you take it almost completely apart. If it has never been apart it may be difficult. I would suggest taking the whole truck to a body shop that has a scanner and see if they can help you out.
