Unhappy Doors Won't Lock

Passenger door wont lock and close if being pushed from the outside. Once it is shut it will only lock from the inside.

Driver door wont lock at all.... what might be the culprit?

1970 Chevy C-10 P/U with original doors

Thank you!

Re: Doors Won't Lock

Nuts is right, you can't push down the lock and close the door. The good news is that you can't lock your keys inside. On mine I have a problem locking one door with the key but not unlocking. It's usually wear and misalignment, these are 40 year old machines.
While replacing window channels I played around, there is a spot worn down on the latch mechanism so the things don't line up perfectly, i put a shim in to test my thory and that was it so it looks like a new latch needed or I could try to do a little weld build up on that part of latch.
