Seat Question??

Just bought a 97 Chevy Z71 Extended cab and the front seats were originally cloth then covered in leather. Anyway the leather is wore out. Will the 99+ model seats fit or not? Ive seen these really cheap.

I know I can go thru Katzkins or LMR to get some covers but trying to stay a little cheaper than that. Heard some good reviews on CoverKing seat covers but heck for the HD vinyl or neopreme front and back is $650. Dont wanna have more in the seats than what the truck is worth.

Re: Seat Question??

They are not a direct bolt in, but can be made to work. If you plan on using the belts integrated in the 99 up seats, you'll have to brace up your flooring more so they have a chance at being safe.

Re: Seat Question??

The seat in my '96 is the one with the fold-down arm rest/storage. It's cloth so you know it won't last forever, even though it is still quite presentable. So, LRS has been a resource for me in the past and will continue. I agree that the prices are not as tasty as I would like them to be, but still it's an option. I'm not so sure that it wouldn't be comparable to an upholstery shop to redo my seat.

Here's the link to their upholstery for anyone reading this thread and curious to know more. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...And-Upholstery

Re: Seat Question??

JWall....they look good.

On door panels, there seem to be more options for the '88-94's that the '95-98's. By that, the design of the door panels with the cloth inserts are what I mean. Yet, I see on your panels, that you have a nice piece of billet for an insert. I hadn't thought about that, but did consider how to make 'em match if changing from cloth to leather on my 60-40 seat w/armrest.

But, yours looks nice.

Re: Seat Question??

Thanks.

I just covered the cloth part of the door panel that match the original seat with leather to match. When i got done it looked better but I decided I would add the billet piece to break up the insert & to match all the other billet pieces.

I was happy the way it turn out especially for the price & the fact I did it all myself in the living room in about 1/2 a day.

Re: Seat Question??

I know this is off topic but i was wondering if anyone knew if a 91-93 gauge cluster with a tach will drop into an 89 without a tach and still work. or am i going to have to wire the tach in myself? sorry glen im kinda stealing your thread.
