1972 Window Sticker

I've asked this before but haven't gotten a response from anyone. Just thought I would ask again hoping someone could help.

We have a very low mile original 1972 Cheyenne and I'm trying to recreate the window sticker. I have most of all I need but would like to see what an original looks like so I can get some pricing and formatting.

Please...please...please

Is there anyone that has an original 1972 window sticker you could share?

Thanks

Re: 1972 Window Sticker

there was a thread on this a little while ago, although it didn't have much info in it. Do a google search in our board on window stickers.

Re: 1972 Window Sticker

I have but no luck yet. I just need one to see what the format looks like and the sticker to make sure I have the correct reproduction.

Re: 1972 Window Sticker

I'm not an expert but I think this might be a build sheet and not a window sticker. Does anyone know?

Does anyone have the link from ebay?

Re: 1972 Window Sticker

not sure if that is the window sticker, never seen one in our years, I seen them in 73-up and remember taking them off personally, but they may have had them in our years. It is not the build sheet, the build sheet never had any prices on it. This is a build sheet

Re: 1972 Window Sticker

Window stickers as we know them where not required by US regulations untill the 80's I sold Chevrolet pickups at Fermen Chevrolet in Tampa Fla in the late 70's never had window stickers but GVW information stickers reflected optional equipment added to vehicle when ordered.

Re: 1972 Window Sticker

I remember when my dad owned the chevrolet dealership from 74-84 I took off window stickers, that was my job detailing. I'm not for sure when they first starting coming on cars and trucks but it was in this era, they weren't any fun getting off, the glue they used was sticky I know that

Re: 1972 Window Sticker

passenger cars did have window stickers regulations before trucks did. Dealers where charging rediculas prices and the Goverment steped in to protect the buying public. !/2 to pickups where the first to see window stickers if I remember right.

Re: 1972 Window Sticker

Yea, I thought they had stickers in 72. I did find one on ebay from a 70 so I assume they all had them.

If you look at this on ebay you can see what a 70 looks like.

This a a tentative window sticker that was used at the beginning of model years when the vehicles shipped prior to when the pricing had been finalized. These were filled out by the dealer for use on cars.

Jeff

That's what window sticker would look like, for sure, although trucks are a relatively new subject for me - more of a Vette/Camaro. First one I've seen for a truck. As Teeitup said, they were glued on pretty good so a bunch of them were wiped out. I kept the sticker off of a 73 Z28 I bought new, but maybe truck buyers weren't so fanatical. *shrug*

Re: 1972 Window Sticker

Here is a reproduction sticker (supposedly) that I bought from classic parts. I just have no reference to know if this is the correct reproduction since I saw another one at a different truck parts store.

If I could find an original I would at least have a good reference instead of guessing.

Re: 1972 Window Sticker

Well now I have a picture of the sticker from a K series. That should be just about everything I need.

Does anyone know what the destination charge would have been for a C series in 72?
