Re: Powder coat or paint.

Mine will not be a trailerqueen, but Iwent with powdercoating. I checked around and there wasnt a shop that would blast and paint for 400 bucks whick is what I paid for powdercoating. Check into it, it's not as high as you would think.

Re: Powder coat or paint.

I am also undecided. I want to POR-15 (easy way out). To powder coat you have to disassemble everything (for the oven and coverage).

Build two Iron fences and set them out side for 10 years, powder coat one and paint the other . . let me know which one holds up better.

I am leaning towards powder coat......

Re: Powder coat or paint.

I just had a battery tray blasted and powdercoated by Snail Motorsports in Vegas ... came out nice... I would probably POR-15 the frame and powdercoat the things like trays, inner fenders, brackets etc.... www.snailmotorsports.com for trkfrk

Re: Powder coat or paint.

I know Juan at Snailmotor sports,AWESOME guy,i had achance to stop by
his shop last month when i was in town for SEMA.He would do the best job
possible, tell him scott from SM POWDER COATING said hey.

As far as imperfection go and small dents, there is several products out on the market that us powder coaters use to fix them, plus there is high build powder
primers we also use.just depends on if you have a good coater that would want to go the extra mile for you to fill them in.

Re: Powder coat or paint.

We power coated some railing for our house a few years back and it looks great but it doesnt get rocks chipping at it or salt built up on it or anything.

Re: Powder coat or paint.

I have powder coated every personal and customers projects for the last 7 years
$500 to $600. is't a little money but to send it out and get it back ready to rock & roll is nice.
I did a 71 chevelle about 8 years ago in por and it still looks good but, that was way to much work.
I guess it depeds on what your time is worth?
