yoke issue? help! new tranny installed!

Hey all for those of you following I have finally installed my 700r4 out of an 86 camaro into my 86 chevy 2wd...
the very last part of the job was to install my driveline...
but for some reason the transmission yoke on my driveline does not go all the way into the transmission or is bottoming out... not allowing enough room to fit it to the rear end.. about 1/4" off... and obviously not enough room for driveline flex with the suspension...

i would thing all the tranny yokes or at least the transmission would be the same length? i pulled the housing off both rears and the splines are shorter? i think on the new tranny... should i fina a tranny yoke out of a 86 camaro to use instead of my original one??
thank you for any help! truck is now taking space in my shop for work so i need to get it done and out of the way!

Re: yoke issue? help! new tranny installed!

From what I've read... if you are changing fronm th350 to 700r4, there is only 1/8" difference in length...
There are some older 700r4's that use a different yoke spline count, but that would be obvious...

Your post isnt clear on what the OLD trans was from your truck, but if it was another 700 or a 350, you should be fine on your driveshaft and yoke

EDIT... IF your th350 had the 9 1/2" tailshaft
