I Need Help!
Howdy yall,
I was hopin someone here could help me out. I have to transport a truck from Indiana to Texas. Transporter's are too expensive so I'm driving up there. I just looked at prices for renting a trailer and they're in the 500-600 range, at the least. I am hoping someone here would willing to let me use/ rent/ buy and tandom axle trailer that is at least 7'x16'. PLEASE!! I'm leavin on the 8th of July and should be back the 12th. I will pay you if i can use your trailer. I'd rather pay someone here than uhaul. In need of help, Chevyguy |

You can go to wall mart and buy a tow bar for 100 bucks.

well we have friends to stay with, so that's the hotel cost and then we're just gonna pack lunches so that's the food. it's just gas. We thought about the tow bar route but my uncle says the tires are spongy, you still think it would be ok? or should we get some used tires?

You can get junk yard tires for 5 to 10 bucks already mounted if you can find the right lug patter. And if not, the used tire shops normally start at 15 to 20 bucks a tire.
As long as your tow vehicle weighs as much or perferably more than the one being towed, and your brakes are up to snuff, you should be OK using common sence. For tail lights, i like unplugging the plug on the firewall and making an extention harness to the trailer harness on the tow vehicle. The stock tail lights (asuming bulbs/wires/grounds are all good) will light up and work fine. |

I looked at U-haul for a trailer, one way for a 300 mile trip. They wanted 135.00 dollars!! I rented the same trailer locally, made the trip in one day, and returned it to the same place for 47.00 dollars!! If you asked for a one way rate, get one for a local 2 day return rate, and see if it isn't much less. I'm sure you could turn that trip in 2 day's.

Terrys Trailers in Oklahoma has 16' car haulers for about $800 new! They are near Oklahoma City. I bought a 24' 5th wheel flat bed 14000gvw for $2500. Youcan't touch those prices out west here... I bought a 16'x80" Carson trailer here last year for $1800. before I added several options. I would make the call to Oklahoma since you are somewhat close and just buy one. Good luck

I am not sure but this looks like the place:
Terry's Trailers I think that the cheaper (bargain) ones are under Utility trailers instead of Car haulers. Have fun
