69 292 same as 66 292?

Is the engine in my 66 the same 292 engine as one in a 69.

No I was trying to find a power steering bracket. One on ebay the guy had ia 63 truck but the engine was a 69. Can't believe they are so hard to find.

Re: 69 292 same as 66 292?

it should be the same casting. I don't know what year that they changed the length of w/pump on the v8s. I don't know whether or not that change was made on the I6's, that would be the only difference if there was a change. someone will say something on it

my power steering bracket came off a 1970 c-10 292. it bolted directly to my factory installed, original 292 in my 65. you wont have any problem between the years you mentioned.

I believe they changed the size of the bolts that hold the flywheel on in '67 or thereabouts. Other than that and the carburetor I don't think there's a lot of difference.

Re: 69 292 same as 66 292?

pretty sure there is a thread on here about converting the brackets for earlier 6's to the later integral head style. Not as nice looking, but way cheaper.
