Unhappy Poor Timing: Engine Issues

Have everything lined up to install new front and rear suspension.
Parts? Check
Heated Shop with every luxury and expert machinist? Check
A week off work? Check
Truck? ......

Went out to start it and drive to the shop this morning (about 20 outside). And truck won't start. Acts like the battery is dead so I use the daily to try and jump it. With the cables attached it lopes(sp?). Meaning it turns over but very slowly. I kept at this and kept it loping (if thats the way to say it) thinking that it was cold outside and the truck has been sitting for a month or two un-cranked.

Nope that didn't work. Tried it several times throughout the day as it warmed up outside. Put a space heater in the engine bay for 30 minutes or so. That smells of desperation but I am desperate.

Any suggestions? Ideas what could cause this? Starter? Karma?

could be a dead cell or three in the battery. swap batteries and see how it starts then.

Re: Poor Timing: Engine Issues

That is fantastic! Wow....I have to take some time, sit down and measure my pulse, take this all in...I'm not known for being right very often that I know of...guys, hey guys, I was right!

back to reality, I'm glad you found the issue, here in Texas and probably many places, if a battery lasts you 3 years without issue, replace it quickly, cuz it is on its last leg.

Clyde's right everyone YAYYYY!!!! He's right about the battery life too. I start sweating about 3 years down the road. It's just a matter of time at that point.--jeff

Thanks again Clyde. Got the forklift and lifted the back end up and changed out the springs shocks and trackbar this morning. Felt good. Couldn't have done it without you.
