what are you guys doing for .....
seat belts? I would like some 3point seat belts and my truck only has lap belts. I tryed somebelts out of a 77 truck and they are'nt even close. I read somewhere that s-10 belts would work but I'd like to know what everyone is doing. I can't find any s-10 belts on my yard and I have crushed out about 50 of those. I found some in the parts cat. are they just one side or both? Jim

Re: what are you guys doing for .....
I bought new retractable 3 points from Wesco. Not bad, it was $62 each side.
http://wescoperformance.stores.yahoo.net/resebe.html I think that you would be taking a safety risk to use something out of a junk yard.

Re: what are you guys doing for .....
I have the s10 belts. They are from the earlier s10 models with the single bolt mount. If you are a bigger person, you may need to find a way to lengthen out a bit. I have no problem using them, with all the cash for clunker cars in the yards, mine came out of a s10 that didn't even have a dented fender. Driver and passenger side only cost me $10.00.

Re: what are you guys doing for .....
The 70 I just acquired has what looks to be a mounting point for a 3-point seat belt/shoulder harness on the B-pillar. As it's several hundred miles away right now I can't check or take a pic.
Anyone pull the factory plug on this mounting point and determine it's for a shoulder belt? |

The B-pillor threaded hole is for mounting the shoulder belt. it is a 7/16" fine thread IIRC.

Re: what are you guys doing for .....
I have a 69 and the B pillar mounting hole is there and it is a fine thread. A flywheel bolt will fit (if you need a size to compare it to).

Re: what are you guys doing for .....
I thought I read that the s-10 belts were a tight fit. I am 6'2 and go in at about 360ish, so I need all the room I can get! Those from wesco may be the ticket I have buddy buckets in this truck and did try some late model in my 70 it was rally cramped but I have put in a tilt that is almost all the way down [towards the dash]. I do have the anchor in the B-pillars for the 3 piont system and it is a 7/16 fine thread the floor is 1/2 coarse. Jim
