Do I need a seal Here?

I am putting the inner finders back on my 65 C10 and was wondering do I need a seal or weather stripping of any kind at the front where it attaches to the rad support.

There wasn't a seal there originally.

Re: Do I need a seal Here?

I pulled mine apart last weekend for what appeared to be the first time it had ever been apart. There was a thin layer of sealant of some sort between the two panels. Makes sense - lots of road moisture and debris being flung up in that area.

I'm going to seal them (both inner and outer fender joints) and then undercoat after installation.

I'm doing the same project. There was a thread here on this recently for mounting rear fenders: 3M part no. 08578 at NAPA - in a blue box for around $20, bunches of 1-foot strips with self-adhesive
