Novice fuel line question...
Howdy! I've had my truck for just over 2 months now and have been making steady progress replacing what needs to be replaced. The time has now come to tackle some engine compartment problems that I have identified but I am a real cherry when it comes to fuel lines and such.
The motor is a 350 with a mild cam, Edelbrock 1406 Carb and Edelbrock intake manifold, and what I assume is a stock fuel pump. The previous owner installed an apparatus called the "Atomizer 2000" and I really want this thing gone. It is plumbed into everything and sits on the driver side inner fender like a metastasized lump of cancer, and, I suspect it may be partly responsible for the poor performance I'm getting presently. What I'm looking for, based on the 1406 carb, is a simplified diagram of the correct routing of the fuel line from the fuel pump to carb, EGR valve to carb, PCV valve to carb, etc. so that I can return this system back to factory original condition. I have the "bible" for the truck, along with other service manuals, but these don't really include substantive diagrams for just putting back to normal. Any artists out there that may be able to help me solve this issue? I appreciate all the help I've gotten from the fine folks on this forum. Thank you in advance. Kevin |

First, remove and throw that snake oil fuel atomizer apparatus in the trash. For fuel line, there should be a short run of 3/8 fuel hose from the frame rail hard line to the pump. Then another from the outlet of the pump to the fuel hose bib on your carb. It sticks out of the passenger side of the carb towards the back and will accept a 3/8 hose. PCV valve is the 3/8 bib on the front of the carb, down low near the manifold. Run a piece of 3/8 hose from there to your PVC valve in the valve cover.

Thanx alot for the info! I assumed it wasn't difficult to do and you confirmed it for me. Yes, I have no idea why in the hell you would even put one of those deals on in the first place, it's a POS and will soon be relegated to the trash! Thanx again.

This is basically it. This is a 50's engine, so you will have to adjust so it doesn't hit the alternator or other accessories, it should come up right about where the head meets the intake manifold, then horizontally back to whereever you want it to go.
