Hopefully not a repost - thought it was pretty cool:

That takes a lot for what that kid wants to do. I think he can do it. We got to somehow get that kid on here so we can see the progress. That's a really touching story. He's got a very similar idea of why he's building his as for why I'm building mine.

I saw the clip on the news but that cant be a 72 maybe his dads was but that truck had 6 lug rims on it ! as far as I have been told that stopped in 70! but i did have to admire the kid for taking on the project since Im deep into that stage with mine ! an Yes its a 70 with 6 lug rims but converted to disc up front .

I admire the young mans ambition but I dont wanna be the one to tell him that his dads truck in the pic is a 73-87 body style. He reminds me of me at that age. LOL If I lived there id help him out with the truck for sure.

Ummmmm. The 73-87 truck is one he's just working on, not the one he wants to restore for his dad.

Re: Touching Story on the News about 10 Year Old's Plans for a '72
The picture of the dad sitting in the old truck looked like a 73-87 style to me as well. The truck the kid was sanding on was a 88-98 model. Either way a great story about an ambitious kid!

Re: Touching Story on the News about 10 Year Old's Plans for a '72
The door panels on the truck on the trailer were 72 door panels as well.
Sad story, glad to hear he is putting his efforts into something productive. So many kids thrown into that situation would be on a destructive path, rather than a contructive path. I hope his family and friends are able to keep him going.

Re: Touching Story on the News about 10 Year Old's Plans for a '72
im not trying to pick the story apart. it was just that i noticed that the truck his father was sitting in was a 73-87 body style. the truck on the trailer is a 72 body style. the truck he was sanding on is a 88-98 body style and isnt the truck hes restoring in memory of his dad. I was merely pointing out that the truck on the trailer which he was going to restore for his father wasnt the same body style as in the photo. so ummmm this is why i dont come here much anymore, seems everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon before they have heard whats playin. and heck my 12 year old daughter even knew what era trucks they were.
I wish him the best and think its awesome what he's doing.

man, if I were closer, I'd be all over helping this kid out. My daughters are right at that same age, so I can easily relate.
