Casting Date?
I think the 3970020 is telling me it's a 307.
What is the clock telling me? I think it's the 2nd hour of a shift. There's a D, N, and T. It's pointing to the T and there are 2 dots under the T. |

Yea it's a 69-73 Truck or 68-73 Car engine. The clocks a time but not sure the other. The site I use is no longer working but the casting number is on my '67 C-10 307.

That is not the date code, it's part of the foundry markings. The date code of the block is on the oppisite side.

I meant to title this clock code. The date code on the other side is hard to read, but it looks like: V10D41DL - I'm not sure about the D's though.
They look more like big Square's. I suppose they could be 0's, but they look different than the first 0. I think I read the V is for Flint, Mi., but that doesn't really make sense. If what I think is a D is really a 0 then that would make it October 4? |
