Center Caps
Hey guys, I'm thinking I know the answer to this, but here goes. What I am wondering is are there any aftermarket chrome push in type center caps that I could put on my stock 2wd 3/4 wheels? I'm looking to paint the wheels black with chrome center caps and beauty rings.

Re: Center Caps
Like ones that push through the center hole from behind? if so make sure there will be room between the wheel and the hub, my OE wheels on my '78 fit on the hub just right.

Re: Center Caps
Yes something to push through the center hole, you may be right about them fitting tight on the hub. I cant really get to my truck right now to look, its buried in snow. I would like to find a center cap that doesn't cover the lug nuts. I don't want to but wheels right now, I just would like to make i look good till I get my 4wd frame ready for the swap.

Re: Center Caps
Look on coker tires website for the push through bullet centercaps or a bullet "spider" cap can be made to work. http://oldholden.com/ohfiles/images/spider%20cap_0.jpg

Re: Center Caps
I was wanting to do the same thing with my 8-lug steel wheels and went in to the local Les scwab to see what they might have.
The manager was pretty emphatic(sp?) that you can't just get center caps and use them with rims that aren't designed to be used with center caps. The rims need to have a beveled edge to match the caps; if anything keeps the rims from being flush with the rotors/drums you risk the wheels coming loose. His only suggestion was finding the newer style steel rims with trim rings and caps. But like the OP, I didn't want anything covering the lugnuts.

Re: Center Caps
I kind of figured that there wasn't anyway to do it. I just wanted to try to dress it up a little without spending too much money. Thanks for the help guys.
I might just have to try to find some cheap white spokes or something.

Re: Center Caps
This is exactly what I'm thinking of doing.
I was just in a thread where they were putting the center caps on mags, but I want to do the same thing on wheels that aren't mags. 67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=418007 Posted via Mobile Device
