3 point seat belt

I bought some 3-point seat belts. I've researched and looked at instructions from you all on here in the past and got great advice, but am now looking to install them and am not sure how to "unwind" them. Should I be looking to work these things for installation like you would a ratchet-type tie down?

They are full sized for a pickup, generic type. Is there a magic word or maneuver I've not tried? Even had a family member come over and we both tried to get them to unratchet but failed.

Anybody have any thoughts?

Thanks as always.

Re: 3 point seat belt

Make sure they are sitting vertical when you try to pull ot the belt. ( In the position you would mount them in.) If you hold them sideways they will lock and will not unwind.

Thanks onequick, I appreciate the help. I'm not discouraged now; thought I had put some bad vodoo in the set. Have a good one.
