Re: pitman arm cunundrums
It should work. I've used the original draglink with the power steering box pitman arms.

Re: pitman arm cunundrums
I agree with the Captain. I have gone the other way and used later model pitman on ealy drag links, so you should be good to go.

Re: pitman arm cunundrums
This is the closest thread I could find related to my topic.
I will be using the old 66 manual steering box for awhile, but my pitman arm needs replacing: Do I need to buy one specific for the 60-66 trucks, or will the later models (73-87) work?

Re: pitman arm cunundrums
Napa shows this part number for the 1966. The price could pay for a lot of power steering parts:
http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Det...+50014+2014024 For 1985 they show 4 different part numbers. This one looks the closest, but appears to have more of a drop. It is specified for manual steering. Perhaps you could take yours to the store and match them up to see exactly what’s different: http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Det...+50014+2014024 This one is also for manual steering: http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Det...+50014+2014024 Here are the other two for power steering: http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Det...+50014+2014024 http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Det...+50014+2014024 |

Re: pitman arm cunundrums
^Thanks
I found a good price through: http://www.thefind.com/search?query=...tby]=price_asc also ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pitma...item20b1a817b6 29.99 + 14 shipping = $43.99 Even at those prices; I'm thinking I might as well spend the difference and make the conversion to power steering. I have the pump and box from the suburban I bought for the motor. The problem is it is a 4x4, and its pitman arm won't work with a 2wd. I can get the whole Power Steering box and Pitman Pick-N-Pull for $60.
