Re: Slamm'n twin turbo '65
Have the Electromotive TEC3r engine management with crank trigger and coils.
Have not worked on it in two months, just got a two post lift in a couple weeks ago and got it installed last week. And I am fixing to go on vacation, so hopefully I will get to spend sometime with it this month while on vacation. Would like to get some body work done.

I built a 50x60 shop on my property out near Walburg. I do all the work on it there.

Nice build! I know what the NRE parts cost. Phew, too much for my palate. $10500 for the alien intake/fuel system? No thanks. :P

This motor was built for a NRE magizine shoot. I bought the motor from a guy that had purchased it from Tom then fell on hard times and never got his vette project underway. The motor was still in the shipping crate sealed up. I talked to Tom before buying it to learn the history. As it turns out, the guy took the original turbos and wastegates and exchanged them for larger units, so they have never been run. We took the pan and valve covers off (the prior owner had backed off the rockers for storage), we scoped the cylinders and every thing looked great. We resealed the motor, fogged it, added oil, etc. While it can make more horses than when it left NRE due to the new larger turbos, Tom suggeted that I don't due to the block setup, so we will keep it dialed under 900HP!

Re: Slamm'n twin turbo '65
Well after being on vacation for two weeks, I finally got a chance to work on the truck. Got the car lift finally finished, so now I can devote some time to the truck until the next thing gets in the way. Pulled the fenders, grill, off and then pulled the cab so I could work on replacing some rusted supports. Got the support on the driver side cut out and replaced. Also cut a rusted area out of the floor support so I can patch it.
The bad support: Cutting it out: Installing new support (drilling spot weld hole): Spot welding new support in place: Spot welding completed: Floor support rusted area: Cut out rusted area in prep for patch:

Re: Slamm'n twin turbo '65
Pics of the cut and lowered cab mounts. I lowered them about 2" on the frame to get the cab lower and also removed the frame reveal when at eye level:

Re: Slamm'n twin turbo '65
Thanks for the comments. Not as much as people might think, with as big as those turbos are, maybe 6-8 psi. With the smaller frame turbos that it dynoed with, it pulled 697 HP at 10 PSI, and those turbos maxed out at 857 HP w/24 PSI. I plan to tune it in the ~700 HP range, even though it has enough injector/turbo/parts/etc. to hit 900 HP.
