Re: Holy crap...going to check out this sale this week

Too bad the deceased owner had not parted with them over time. Probably was waiting so they would increase in value. Now in the middle of a long recession know one has the money to buy them. Its a sale not an auction, hopefully the estate is motivated to sell by the probate trustee and will take any offers. Would be a shame if the best offers came from scrap dealers to expedite the clearing of the estate and reduce paperwork for the trustee.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

absolutely - I'm not sure when I'm going to get up there, the weather is looking nasty and cold for the next couple of days. Shoot me a PM and let me know what you're looking for...

Did he give a time frame for the liquidation, middle of worst winter in a while in Colorado does not seem like good timing to me.

Huh? It's 40 degrees at the end of December and we have yet to have any snow in Denver this year? lol...It's just going to be cold tomorrow and Friday, but back in the upper 40's for the weekend and next week.

But no, he didn't give a timeline. I got the impression he's just some old hoarder getting rid of his back yard collection

Re: Holy crap...going to check out this sale this week

I think I read about it on another board and the general con census was that he was pretty high on his prices.

Probably best to just call for directions and be a bit vague on what you are looking for and then try to deal while holding a fist full of cash.

That five window in Mountain Home looks like a pretty good deal and that would be a fairly easy road trip even if it was a bit long.

Re: Holy crap...going to check out this sale this week

years ago had classmates in Denver and Vail so spent time there. While in school in the mid 70's roamed around the 4 corners area too.
