Re: MII spring rates

I use 4 cyl springs with one coil cut. This seems to be what most shops do.

Don

.............after reading my post...........I meant to say with 1/2 of a coil, not 1 coil cut.

Re: MII spring rates

A lot of guys tend to want to put too high of rating of springs in and ruin the ride they are looking for.
As Weldvair said, the 4 cylinder springs seem to work quite well in most instances.

Re: MII spring rates

While your looking at spring rates also look into a sway bar if the kit doesn't already come with one. It, along with the correct springs, will give a much nicer ride and cornering.

Re: MII spring rates

Thanks guys! we are getting a parts kit from speedway motors and gonna use a chassis enginering bolt in crossmember. the tech guy at speedway said we would be happy with a 375lb spring and thats just a bit on the stiff side of medium. all you and a truck guy my wife works with are saying softer, so i think im gonna go with springs a few steps softer than the 375lb ones.
thanks again!

I went with the 350# spring. I have the Heidts kit. I have a rather heavy engine with the lq4 6.0L.

Re: MII spring rates

I have used the must II IFS over 10 times & experimented with many springs
........do not use anything but 4 cyl springs with 1/2 coil removed.
