Re: Any one got power vent windows

I thought about doing this about 10 years ago.

My thoughts were to build a bracket to couple an electric motor to the end of the pivot shaft of the window. the only draw back would be that the electric motor would need to be installed after the vent window is inserted into the door.

never seen it done.

Re: Any one got power vent windows

I would like to do this as well. the cars had these available from factory. there doors have more room for them than the trucks. switches run vertically rather than power windows that run horizontally. pic below is a 64 chevrolet power vent switch.

Re: Any one got power vent windows

Happy New Everybody: Sorry I Dont Have Any Pic. Ideal still in my head.About 15 years ago my mom had a 84 Olds. Cutlas Supreme eq. with power windows. It was a 4 door and the rear wheel well cut into doors so far the windows did not go down. But for ventelation thay had a small vent type window. They were power . The motor is a rack&pinion style. The only thing iam going to change is new vent glass with no hole for the locking knob, and of corse get the nerve to start. LOL

Pretty sweet; the newer mini vans have this on the rear side glass. maybe able to find the setup from a bone yard.

Talking Re: Any one got power vent windows

Back several years ago there was a truck at the local car shows with vent window that were hooked to a motor shaft with the old window cranks on them for handles. All you did was move it about half a turn either direction and the window would open.
There was some pictures of it I think on the old forum at one time.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
