Question Mystery brackets/spring from a 67?? ID help please

I removed these brackets/spring from the floor of a 67 truck. They mount under the seat. I have never seen these on a truck before. At first I thought they were for a factory jack...but the OEM jack retaining spring and mounting hardaware is also present in the passenger cab corner (like I have seen in all 67-72 trucks) What are they for?? Thanks for the help.

The other "hook" type bracket pictured in the lower right I also found on the floor of the truck. It was not bolted to anything. Is it OEM for something? Thanks again for the help.

Re: Mystery brackets/spring from a 67?? ID help please

I have not seen many 67's but I believe that the jack handle was held in place with the brackets and spring. Later it was moved to the cab corner.

Re: Mystery brackets/spring from a 67?? ID help please

It's probably for the jack and handle on a 67 CST with buddy buckets-the corner where the jacks are normally stored had a carpeted piece along with a covering for the gas tank so there was no access to get at a jack in the corner-did you get that at Ecology? Steve

Yes, that is for the jack handle and lug wrench hold down under the seat. I think I have a pic somewhere. I'll have to look.

Here's the pic of the '67 jack instructions decal. Not to good but maybe you can get an Idea. Maybe someone has a better picture or maybe the decal is available from one of the vendors.

Thanks Jim! My 72's have the jack handle and lug wrench in the cab corner, so this makes sense.

It was in a 67 with buddy buckets, and I wondered if that had anything to do with it so I also pulled them too just in case
I got these at an Ecology. Been working out of town lately on the side and also picked some other truck parts from other yards. I am coming up on a lot of 67-68's.

I think there are two brackets besides the end ones. If you look close at the picture you can see a bigger one at the back and a smaller one in the front that the spring goes under.

Re: Mystery brackets/spring from a 67?? ID help please

the one with a hook thing to the left is one of the spacers that bolts on the bottom of the gas tank and it is close to the hump and the one to the right is for the jack
